i bought these as telegraph stamps from new zealand over 40 years ago, but now i'm not sure. have not found these stamps anywhere on ebay or bing images. any one know for sure what these are and their value?

Hi, These are telegraph stamps from Ceylon.

The cancellation on these ones is COLOMBO.

thanks the borders on the stamps looked like new zealand and the original seller had sold it as such.

SG now list telegraph stamps in their Empire & Commonwealth catalogue (the old "Part 1" catalogue).

They have a number of these Ceylon stamps for sale on their web site including some expensive items like this one:
