Hello,

I am going through some German Occupation stamps to catalogue. Am I missing something? - maybe reading the catalogue incorrectly? is this 1N34? that is the only one that makes sense; however, that No. seems to go with a different stamp. Thanks all for your insight.

It looks like the captions are incorrect. Yours appears to be 1N34 as you wrote. The stamp of King Albert I go up to 25c 1N33 and not 1N36.

Apparently, it exists in two perforation gauges: 14 and 14 3/4 x 15.

Nora, the catalog does make mistakes and you have to be aware of that. Look for instance at the shot of the catalog page you placed here. The 1N36 stamp says it is drawing 49 - they mean it is A49! I suggest you find the un-overprinted stamp and look for that A number. Then compare it to the one you have. I think you are correct, it is 1N34

Peter

Yes, the catalog numbers under the illustration of the large stamp should read "1N33-1N42." The small, "portrait" stamps are 1N25-1N32.

Ah. Thank you all. Now I really feel like an official stamp collector (finding an error in my catalogue and all) - jk. ;) Germany certainly keeps me on my toes.

Yes, I am going to go find the un-overprinted stamp. Nora.
