Hello! I recently bought a large box of unchecked stamps and found this one among the bunch. It certainly is... interesting. I was curious about both its history and its worth. Most importantly, why the swastikas? I couldn't find it in Scott, and auction sites list it totally incorrectly. Someone is selling a full envelope for 800$ but ya right.

Thanks!

Seen cut square 2c Scott #U9 (1924) for $2.94 (Unused cover $14)
Unaware of 3c surcharge.
Guess:
Swastikas, at that time used as sign of good fortune / (1929)

Would have been helpful if you offer the links from your research
Auction sites etc.
Help us to help you.

Scott cat # U12. Used CSQ valued at $6.75 in 2013 Scott Specialized. As to swastikas, see previous answers or use your favorite search engine.

Before someone gave it a bad name, it was just another symbol like a roman key. I am attaching two photos (scanner not working) of a few popular private Canadian airmails, CL7 and CL8.
