I find it interesting how the 'skips' are so similar in the numeral tablets. That is a very interesting stamp! Thank you for sharing.

Just for the sake of accuracy, it wasn't that the plate was too dry, it was that the paper was too dry. A certain amount of moisture was needed in order for the ink to stick.

Yup. I call'em dry prints. And they are almost always from the edge of the sheet/pane, a really valuable plating aid. Of course in this extreme case it may not look very much like a normal print from the same position with respect to plating marks.
