I'm retired and have just returned to my stamp collection.
A little overwhelming when I look at just the U.S. General issues!

I have an almost completed U.S. Airmail collection from my earlier days (minus the Zepp's) and have begun to focus on souvenir sheets. I've decided to go with Railroad, Space and Dinosaur themed with the intent of putting together a collection for my grandson, hopefully he will show an interest.

Any thoughts on how to put them into a catalog with maybe a little historical background on them?

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ

Welcome Jeff. You might look at the AlbumEasy website, www.thestampweb.com It is a program for making your own album pages, but they also show several thematic pages that you cam print for free

Recommend you check out the American Topical Association which offers a variety of "checklists". Including ones for the three topics you listed in your posting.

There is one on Space listed there. Others that might pique interest of a grandchild could be baseball, fishing, national parks, Santa, or a particular state might be of interest. There are plenty of illustrations and descriptions.
