I'm a bit perplexed trying to identify Soviet Zone GDR stamps. 1948 to 1952 specifically the Georg Hegel 60pf stamp. I found it in the Scott German Standard Vol 3, 2019 page 128, 10N42 60pf Dull Green. But there's not any mention of any sort of tagging, I have 4 of these that glow yellow/green under ultra violet light. Sorry for the poor cell camera picture. I couldn't figure out how to scan it with UV.

If you are going to collect Germany, you need to use Michel as your first source of information.

This series of stamps is collected by specialists. It was printed on different papers, and some of them were printed with inks responsive to UV light. The 60 pf stamp you show is an example, but unlike some of the others, it is not more valuable.

Moyock,

Michel Specialized shows that some of "the Heads" issues fluoresced green to bright yellow green. It is a Mi Nr 225b

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

I agree with Bob. If you want to collect Germany, the Michel catalog is almost a must.

There are all sorts of minefields in German stamps.

Thanks everyone. Looks like a Michel Specialized is the ticket. I'm discovering that German stamps are a little more difficult than most. I do not have a complete set, but enough to peak my interest.

Thanks again.
