There are, and they make excellent reading, even if one does not collect the specific type of item being discussed.

Read John Hotchner's column in the February 16, 2021 issue of Linn's. Someone sent him a comment: "I wish there were an expertizing enterprise that operated on the basis of fact, not opinions." His answer is interesting.

As a reminder:

The entire series of John M. Hotchner's column on expertizing from 2014 through the end of 2020 is posted on the Linn's Stamp News website at:

Although the file name indicates it is only complete through 2018, that is incorrect.
