Hi all. Wanted something mentally stimulating to do during that first lockdown, and came into this almost by accident. Have settled down into trying to find one of every stamp issuing entity I can find, including variations of countries, cinderellas, local postal services etc. Nothing amazing but more than pleased with some of my best finds amongst world off paper job lots - Tibet, CSA, Shrub Oak, Heligoland, Venetia-Lombardy, Mannheim, Nossi-Be etc. Have just over 1,350 so far, although this may count as cheating as some places have multiple variations - eg Congo/Congo DR/Zaire/Belgian Congo/Free State Congo/Pop Rep Congo etc. Would love to hear from anyone else who is trying the same and how you've got on.

Congrats on your progress!
I got bitten by the "One from Everywhere" bug two years ago, but I won't be competing against you for material, since my own "One from Everywhere" collection consists only of unused 19th-century postal cards. Like you, I count the variants separately, so (for example) I have three cards from Hawaii: Kingdom, Provisional Government, and Republic. My checklist currently contains 340 entities that issued postal cards before 1 January 1900, but there are probably still some private local posts missing from the list. I've managed to get cards from 195 of those entities so far. |

That's very impressive erilaz, I imagine postcards pre 1900 tend to be hard to find! I live in "The Old Post Office" in a rural SW England village, took 6 months to find a stamp with the matching cancellation stamp then it popped up in a otherwise not too great job lot of 1,000 stamps. Almost missed it! I'm guessing not too many postcards from Anjouan? |

NafsAsp, Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ |

Quote: I'm guessing not too many postcards from Anjouan? That's actually one of the spaces I've already managed to fill. |
