I do not believe there were affixing machines that early. Some clerk (?) probably cut this with scissors

The typed description means nothing without having it looked at. This is the first I've ever heard about a 1¢ being perforated by his invention. Pretty sure little is known about him and it wasn't even discovered until the 1940's. Here is a little info. See lot 63 https://stampauctionnetwork.com/v/v30024.cfm |

The Snow patent has been written up several times including by Ken Lawrence in the American Philatelist (November 1993, page 1020+, and probably other times as well) and recently by Arthur Groten in the American Stamp Dealer and Collector magazine, January 2018.

No, go to a certifying organization.
Anyone who has had a large stack of letters to stamp knows how much easier it is to tear (or cut) the stamps into strips and apply them from the strip. Thus the convenience of coils. Finding a stamp cut in one direction and torn in the other is not uncommon. This stamp has that appearance - whether cut into strips for manual application or for passage through a Snow applicator. The experts will know the features to look for, although the odds are long. |

You could try emailing APS or Kellehers for a recommendation. Point of fact, In this forum there seems to be a preference for PF. APS and Kellehers have always been responsive to my queries |

Update: Max from Kelleher replied:
Good day and thanks for sending,
I showed to Mr. Coogle as well and he said it "looks good". He'd recommend PF but feels it will be genuine.
Hope that helps.
i will be sending this in to the PF and update when I hear back, I am not getting my hopes up to high....but lets wait and see |
