Just joined the forum and new to stamp collecting. I collect Antique postcards and recently received a bunch of stamps tucked into an old Postcard Album I purchased. These Roosevelt stamps were included. They look a little odd like they've been through a hole puncher, but it didn't work all the way. Is this what they are supposed to look like?
Hi. Assuming it's not just paper stuck across the back, these not-fully-punched holes are called blind perfs (perforations). More a curiosity than anything, they don't make the stamp valuable, unfortunately. Just means the perforating machine wasn't quite running at its best.
