Excellent news! I've been waiting for this for 60 years. Of course, though, I wouldn't want them if they were from Travancore.

Please feel free to do so. Don't let me stand in your way. Rod lives in Perth, after all, where they'll buy anything

But if Rod isn't interested (and I can't imagine why he wouldn't be) I have a nice sheet of 4 Anna inverted heads I could give you in exchange for the 1989 Travancore sheet.

That's fine Tony, you take the Travancore sheet.
I'll catch up with them elsewhere, no probs.
Enjoy.

No, Rodney. On mature reflection, I couldn't do it to you. You take the sheet. I'll stick to Barwani after all.

now now lets all calm down here. lets see the 4 anans inverted head you were talking about. it just dawned on me that I should have a stash of these sheets I think we are talking 20 or 30 different designs but each sheet should have 2 or more of the same design so we might end up with only 10 designs so I could sell one to rod trade one with you and potentially still have one more :)

but first I must find them I keep finding more material but I cant find them maybe one day I will just stay at home and look for them all day?

who know maybe you guys will be interested in the other designs too?

No, Spock, the only sheet that would arouse my interest is Barwani SG 15. For that I would pay unhinged amounts of banknotes.

One, certainly. But not a bad capital gain over 80 years: from ¼ Rupee to 1 million.

Tony, I finally read all your info on the Indian tates: Fascinating! Even though I will never collect the stamps, the stories about the States themselves (never knew there were THAT many!) kept me very interested. Thanks !
Jopie

Yes, we are very fortunate to sit back and enjoy
the result of countless hours of collecting and study
made by Tony and others before him, in this field.

I have always loved Indian stamps, and to have such reference material laid out before us, is a real blessing.
So indeed, Thank you Tony for sharing your passion.

Jopie (and Rod) - it really is a great pleasure to be able to show off the Indian States like this. I was only half joking in the title of the thread. Many collectors will run a mile when you so much as mention the Indian States, but they're not really that scary, once you get to know them

You may never take up the Indian States, Jopie, but then you never do know. Like cats, they have a way of insinuating themselves into your life, and onto your lap, without your ever quite noticing it
