I like to organize my stamps by date of issue from oldest to newest but can't really find a good site or reference material for Germany/Canadian and Bulgarian stamps I was thinking scott cat. but I don't like how the same stamps even though reissued at a later date would be put together with older issues...

any suggestions?

The Scott catalog will still list the issue date at the bottom of those columns of large sets.

..or pick up a 1963 or so Stanley Gibbons, they are great for offering issue dates and Designer names and Engravers.
I use them with Scott my preferred numbering syst.

For Canada, Unitrade provides the date of issue, to the day if known.

And Michel the same for Germany (at least in the specialized).

I second stampworld.com, it's going to be the easiest most nonsense-free resource if all you care about is chronology.

Convert the Scott numbers into Roman numerals then mount in alphabetic order by Scott number. That should solve the pesky set issues.

For many early stamps, the best you can do is with a year or earliest known use.

For Scott and SG, they tend to be generally in chronological order except for definitive series. The challenge for album producers is that it may not be the most efficient way to lay out an album.

I have been creating a GB Machin collection (modern material) in chronological order and first days are not known for a few issues since they are varieties. The best is month.

Yes, it's those earliest ones that cause all the trouble!
