To my eyes, remnants of perf holes are visible on the bottom edge.

Margins are too small. Would never get a cert. Agree on the trimmed perfs being visible.

I believe that the certifying organizations need to see a at least 21.5mm x 25mm or larger dimension for them to call it legitimate.

But minimum size is not a requirement in the case of a guide line pair, which can only exist for coils unless someone snuck out with a full sheet. There are other factors besides size, too.

hy-brasil,
I don't see any direct connection between your post and the stamp being discussed. What am I missing?

real vs fake. Perhaps a slightly different spin ...

The stamp is real. It is a real copy of Scott 304, which has been severely trimmed to give a false impression of being Scott 315.

I found no 304 pairs with blind perfs between submitted in a quick run through the PF, APS, PSE certificate databases, but I recall seeing 304s with partial blind perfs. Using minimum size times two for pairs, pairs with blind perfs could be made to pass the size test at first glance. A 315 pair with guide line cannot be a 304 pair with blind perfs between.

On the other hand, the singles in the databases judged genuine seem to mostly exceed the minimum size noted.

Yes, my point, the OP's stamp is a single and your comments deal with pairs. No relevant connection that I can yet see. Sorry.

Then, my apologies to all including the OP for taking this thread off-topic. It was not my intent.

No apology required Hy-brasil. Most times threads are more interesting when they go off topic, become tangential. Your posts required thought and thus thinking. Thanks

hy-brazil - agree that no apology is needed here - I also enjoy when topics widen to include other aspects of the topic. Unless a moderator thinks othewise, this adds to the color of the discussion, and does not detract. There are many folks who read and participate in this forum that have different levels of expertise, interest and insights, so I think related, and not specifically on-topic remarks are generally beneficial for this friendly forum.
