I made my first post here about the collection and the US stamps. Here are the rest and I am seeking any input on whether there is anything of note here or if they are common. If there are any you would like to see full pics of, I would be glad to post more. I really appreciate any help!

Thanks again.

I had a feeling someone would say that. I am handling them as carefully as possible, within reason.

Opinion.
Overall cursory view, as a worldwide collector of 20 years, most of the stamps look common, as a new collector, you have a nice worldwide collection to begin a journey.

That said, there are always surprises, your Austrian PERFIN
punctured stamp, I have never seen before, I'll have to research.

Your first attempt at supplying scans is extraordinary ...excellent!
Very well done you.

The 1d Australian Kangaroo (my favourite)
Postmarked BENALLA Victoria Australia
dates 5pm 3oth April 1913
First Watermark

Above the "R" in Australia, there is a tiny white dot in the frame line, that later dot grows and develops into a large white dot extending into the lower shading line

That stamp can be identified from a forme of 480 stamps
as position CL10(6) (a) "First state"
Plate C, Left Pane, Stamp 10 in the 6th row.
(Open to correction)

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the information, rod222. I may look into moving these out of the dilapidated book into something new and photograph/post them for closer examination as I go. What do you all recommend for storing a collection like this?

Thank you.
So now we have the "Time" at left of date,
that makes that Pmk 1920 - 1929
Perfect!

Oops, Time is at right of Date...ergo Unknown to me.
(Perhaps an early from of the 1931-1938 Type)

These are all very inexpensive stamps as are the majority of stamps overall. The ancient prices posted by each tell the tale -- they were common back then and still are. Still, you can see how thing like perfins and cancels can catch the interest of collectors. Do we have you hooked now?

Your friend (enemy?) is the Scott catalog, a multivolume set issued yearly that can be found in the reference section in your local library. Older volumes might be available for loan.

For a full view of your stamps, have a look at Lighthouse Vario pages, two-sided with pockets of various sizes. Available via stamp and coin supply companies and ebay.

Thank you. Also, thanks @hy-brasil for the Lighthouse Vario page suggestion. I had just looked at the 16-page Lighthouse stock book with black pages and like it as a self-contained unit and the price is decent.
I checked the catalogue of my local library and they have one volume of the 1995 edition of the Scott catalogue. LOL A library about 45 minutes away seems to have a couple sets, though, so I may be able to check them out sometime.

Regarding the previous red letter post about never handling stamps with your fingers, I wouldn't lose any sleep over doing what you did. These were used stamps that obviously got handled by fingers when they were sold, when they were separated from the adjoining stamps, when they got applied to the letter, etc. So if you barely handled them with clean hands they most likely got less contact than they did decades ago.

Now if they had been MNH stamps I could have accepted the red letter warning because I am sure we have all seen fingerprints all over a stamp's gum from someone handling it for a period of time with their fingers. Not nice.

Best practice is to use stamp tongs/tweezers whenever possible, but you will undoubtedly encounter situations where finger assistance will be required.

It is a good habit to ALWAYS use tongs/tweezers/gloves when handling stamps.

No worries about the handling thing. I completely understand having been in the coin hobby for a while now. I will be more careful if I delve into moving all of them over to a new book and photographing them.
