I'm measuring a series of stamps which are supposed to be 13.5 horizontally. If I come across some that are 13.6 or 13.7 is there any significance to that? And in general what degree of deviation from a catalogued gauge would be considered noteworthy - or does it depend strictly on the stamp issue in question?

Unlikely to be a "deviation", but rather that most catalogs round off the perforation rates to the nearest half, which is what you are finding.

Thanks John! I always appreciate your insights.
In this instance I did find both 13.5 and 13.6/13.7 in my measurements. Would there be any significance to these variations or at that scale is this all within a reasonable variance?

Some stamp printings are perforated on multiple machines. Without a specific example to discuss, I/we cannot provide much meaningful insight. A picture is worth a thousand words. Also, rather than measuring with a gauge, try using another stamp as the gauge.
