I've never seen anything like this auction description;

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284411462199

I am not in anyway recommending this item. 1800 stamps spread across 6 albums are worth about 5c apiece or $90 plus maybe a couple $100 for the albums so about $300 tops.

Been buying on ebay for over 20 years. This description is the longest I've ever seen. I acknowledge that the seller put in a lot of work, but I don't find it particularly useful.

The seller may have been inspired by Jack Nicholson's performance in "The Shining".

He probably wants to get paid for all the work he did. 110 hours at $90/per hour adds up fast.

My word counter is saying 15,530 Words 161,649 Characters. A picture is worth 15,000 words!

Selling price about $5.40 per stamp, I wonder how much time per stamp? I'm thinking maybe about 10 stamps per hour ($54/hour, not bad).

The seller copied the owner's inventory with descriptive notes from a spreadsheet, then pasted in the ebay listing editor, losing all the formatting. The column headings appear after the words Happy Bidding at the start. With an hour's work of search and replace, it's possible to recreate the table.

Wow.

CJPalermo1964: You're spot on. This is the inventory, scanned or exported it and just dumped it directly in the ad, which would explain no line breaks, tabs or formatting... This would be easy to reconstitute in excel or word.

words can't describe the pain and suffering it took to "inventory" this collection. I've seen similar auctions and you really have to sympathize with them...A for effort, F for asking for help.

how do you chew up slipcases and binders like that? mice?

Regarding the condition of the binder: not too long ago the "adhesive of choice" for most bookbinders was animal hide glue. This material is irresistible to puppies and dogs.

After zooming in the pic, I don't see any canine tooth punctures, so I'd have to guess human fingernails did the damage.

1042 mentions of off-center
497 mentions of wavy
256 mentions of looks new but... (what does that mean?)
64 mentions of discoloration
46 mentions of heavy postmark
872 described as "good"
So I would probably say about a couple dozen "collectible" stamps?
