As I've expanded my collection into other countries, I've come to learn identifying the best reference catalog for a particular country is not always obvious. When I started collecting France, it took me a while to find Maury as most people tend to use Scott or Yvert & Tellier. Now I've expanded into Monaco, I'm wondering what advice the community might be willing to share on this topic. Yvert & Tellier again seems to be the leading contender. Any advice would be appreciated.

Dallay in this case is the predecessor of Maury. Its non-France catalogues haven't been updated for many years. Yvert produces a catalogue for Monaco and a range of other French-area entities. How much detail do you need?

My bias is towards the Michel volume that covers Andorra, France, and Monaco.

Out of interest, why (unless you were German or German-speaking) would you buy a German catalogue for France and Monaco?

It's like Marine's only good line in those Presidential debates with Manu - "Next week, France will be led by a woman - me or Madame Merkel".

As a matter of fact, I am German-speaking. That aside: 1) I'm not aware of a native-Monaco catalog, and 2) language isn't a relevant measure of accuracy or completeness (I wouldn't use SG for USA, or Scott for British Commonwealth, for example).

I happen to use Maury for France, but that doesn't mean that they or Yvert cover Monaco better than Michel; I don't know one way or the other, but my experience using Michel has always been positive.

There was an old Catalog edited in Monaco.(I think it was printed by Yvert).
