I'm considering buying Scott #327 single stamp which looks great on the front, but has a hinge mark and a paper mark which results in a thin spot. The Scott value for it is $125. How much does the value decrease with the defects on the back? It is selling for $35.

I'm a noobie on adjusting stamp values. Really a noobie on stamps in general, but spending a lot of time learning. Scrutinizing defects is tough. I appreciate the help!

It looks like it's paper stuck to the back of the stamp
So the ink from the quad paper it was mounted to probably transferred onto the stamp from moisture
Others will give you a better explanation.
I'm fairly new to this myself but have come across similar

Definetly ink transfer from the quad lined page which probably had adherance to it. Got removed and looks like a thin spot was created. Not sure. As well, it may be double hinged to cover over what appears to be a bad thin spot which shows up as the dark spot?

Cannot be sure unless the hinge is removed, dipped in watermark fluid or possibly examined against a bright light source.
Ask the seller for the truth and tell them if damaged you will be wanting a refund if purchased. Without seeing the centering, and as it appears damaged its only worth a small fraction of catalogue and only for a space filler that you really want, need and cannot find otherwise.

The black dot is the main concern? Like a shadow from a hole in the paper?
