found this block. perf 11, so it's a 506. but what is up with that odd deep brown color on the right side of it?..

Looks like it is very oxydized

Oxidation
Darkening of the ink on certain stamps caused by contact with air or light. Some inks used to print stamps, especially oranges, may in time turn brown or black.

Not an uncommon occurrence on stamps with yellow or orange ink. This can be treated with hydrogen peroxide; search for previous threads on this site. For stamps with gum, either by VERY careful application to the front of stamp only or (safer method) by exposing the face of stamp to hydrogen peroxide FUMES only. See previous threads for details.
