Are these worth anything? I have the Heritage Collection of American Revenue Stamps binder and maybe about 1/5 of it has been filled. Here's a few of the more interesting ones, because who doesn't like firearms, wine and butter :

In a word, yes. The Firearms and Wine are listed in Scott's. I would to see what else you have. |

Thanks for the response revstampman. I sure did find someone!
6 stamps in Documentary 1953 6 stamps in Stock Transfer 50 in the 1941 Wine 7 stamps in the Butter 3 stamps in 1953 Cigar 6 stamps in 1954 Cigar and maybe 25 or so of the long tobacco stamps.
I mean, how much are we talking here? I could photograph all of them if it's gonna be worth my while - they're all perfect and unused/not cancelled.

Eric Jackson also has a website where you can get an idea of what other sites are selling these for. |

The Firearms tax is about $50. The Process Butter would go for around $75. |

I think what sets the valuable one apart is the text on the second line is smaller than the top line. Yours looks like the same font both lines. My 2016 Scotts catalogue doesn't even list a RE196d. Maybe a newer discovery? |

The "One Dollar Sixty" is in a larger/longer font on Eric's. Different catalog numbers. |

I think it's the font difference between ONE DOLLAR SIXTY and the next line AND FOUR-FIFTHS CENTS. I also notice another version with DOLLLAR (3 L's) instead of DOLLAR (2 L'S).
I have lots of revenues, mostly cancelled, and always have the version that is NOT rare, which I guess is the whole point of rarity. |

I was offered $275 from a local dealer that I like - here's a brief summary of what's there:
6 stamps in Documentary 1953 6 stamps in Stock Transfer 50 in the 1941 Wine 7 stamps in the Butter 3 stamps in 1953 Cigar 6 stamps in 1954 Cigar and maybe 25 or so of the long tobacco stamps.
Take it or shop it more?
PS - I realize it's hard to say without seeing the actual collection but given your experience and the laws-of-average that these are run-of-the-mill stamps and that I probably don't have anything of stupidly high value here, is this a decent offer? |

You should post scans of the cigar and tobacco stamps. Some of these older ones can get pretty pricey. |
