A friend of mine has inherited some stamps from her father and I am helping her evaluate what to do with them.

If you could recommend the best place to sell them that would be great. I suppose high value ones might require a different sales venue?

I went through a few hundred with the Scott catalogue and have picked out a few of the possibly high value ones, they are hinged. But as a novice I have no idea of their actual value. If there are any good ones please let me know.

I am happy to post some more if you are interested.

Hello. The German ones are penny stamps found in most albums from around WWII. Common Chinese stamps will sell for something on ebay, almost irrespective of what they are. That's likely to be the best venue - and, if they're in an album, it's usually best to leave them there and take a few representative photos. Show us a few more pages.

This lovely stamp from China has a complete 6-bar Pa-Kua obliterator cancel. The Pa-Kua is a grid of six horizontal bars, full or broken, read downwards from the top:

1 denotes a full bar.
2 denotes a broken bar

Your stamp is either a 121221 PAGODA ANCHORAGE or a 122121 AMOY.
Probably AMOY in my opinion, reading right to left, but it is impossible to tell for sure off cover.

Ooops! Apologies Bobby,
was wondering if Linus could ID the Postmark.
