Personally I like your collection, but I'm no expert and that's what you asked. |

Hi Eve, nothing special (apart from a good relative) in those stamps, that I can see. $10 maybe in a club auction.
There are some Aussie, that are "cinderellas" (Not genuine postage stamps) These are genuine stamp designs, but with "printed on" postmarks used in children's give away packs.
I like the Bookmarks, never seen those before. That's how I started, with millions of other people the value lies in the hobby as one progresses, just not in $.
One thing in your favour, the Chinese stock book, (if it is) has been kept out of humidity, these have a very bad reputation for promoting rust and toning in stamps.

Thanks Rod.
Hey, I was just looking over the stamps, and I think I have found one that deserves appraisal. From my eye, it appears to fit the requirements of the rare stamp in question.
I am in Australia. Where would you recommend I get it appraised?
Thanks, Eve. |

Eve - hello. I'm afraid that there's nothing there of value. Use the mint Aussie stamos for postage and give the others to a child. Don't confuse a common stamp with a rare variety thereof! |

Eve, when appraising a stamp collection on line, consider, if you will, an auctioneer valuing a Silverware collection.
You can give a guess as to the value, but without a loupe and reading the makers marks, accuracy can only be speculative at best.
What rarity do you spy? the Lyre bird perhaps? Let us know, and we can advise as best we can.

So you are more experienced than we thought. You soaked in water? Watermark fluid? Can you offer a scan of the Watermark please? Good luck ! Hope you are right. |

Thanks Rod!!!
Not at that level no, I can see it when I hold it up to the light. I can send a photo that is back lit, as well as a scan.

To be the scarcity, the point of the star/s must be pointing East or West Normal is North.
