This being postal stationery it isn't listed in Scott, however I have a Michel catalogue of postal stationery of Western Europe 1986 edition and it's listed in there. Not being very fluent in German I'm not sure of which of three varieties this one is, but I believe it's either P25 issued in 1910, P28 issued in 1912 or P31 issued in 1918. All three varieties were priced at that time (36 years ago) at 7.50 deutschmarks, which I think was about $2.00 back then, so, not valuable then and not valuable now. Interesting that it took almost 7 weeks to travel from Greece to Rhode Island. Something else interesting, three languages in use here: card is printed in Greek, message seems to be in French, and receiving information on front is in English

Thanks to both of you for the information. I will work on narrowing it down from 3 choices to one. I appreciate the time and the translation. Thanks again Happy New Year. Also since the postmark is 1919, I am leaning toward the 1918 variety, but I will verify.
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

This is listed in the old Higgins & Gage catalogue as issued in 1918.

The earlier versions have more lines of text to the left of the stamp.

This one comes in two colours of the card: either on white (H&G 30) or cream to yellowish (H&G 30a).

My 1985 Stratoudake catalogue has a picture of the complete card and this shows a printer's imprint towards the bottom left. This is partially hidden here by the receiving office's handstamp.

This imprint reads:

LITH ADEL G ASPIOTE - KERKYRA

(although it's in the Greek alphabet on the card).

The travel time wasn't quite as long as it appears at first sight as Greece still used the old Julian calendar in 1919 and this was 13 days behind our current calendar.
