And the imperial China ended in 1911 when republic was declared. So, the stamp is from republic of China, but from the mainland, not from Taiwan. |

You're right, I should have called it "pre-communist China", though the second president of the republic also declared himself emperor, and after his death there was a warlord era until 1925. The above stamp was probably issued by Chiang Kai-shek's government, right before they lost and fled to Taiwan. |
