My worldwide album is lacking. (Traveler) I am considering making my own. I am sure someone has done it, not using the software available out there, as can't really afford the extra and from what I have seen, not all that impressive. Looking for any help. Type of paper that works best, etc. Do I need special printer ink to make it archival? Going to use 3 ring binders, and considering card stock. Each country will have a face sheet, with brief description and maps, etc.

Hello JayR... I now that you want to stay away from software albums, however, The Steiner Website allows you to ptint Blank pages, with the country name, for free.. Just use whatever paper you wish.
I have been using their quad-ruled pages... |

Hey Jay, I had a Traveler in the early 1970's, wish I still had it. Do you have a photo of the cover? |

Jay, There have been several threads here on making personalized pages. I suggest trying the search function using "album pages" in the title and see what pops up. If the ink is not touching the stamp itself, I would not be concerned about special ink. The paper should be a weight of 24 lbs. or more, I think. I don't print my own pages very often and mine are closer to card stock and are archival & acid free pages. Good Luck! |

BeeSee, I had one in the 70's also, gave it to my now ex sister inlaw when I went in the army. Bummed!! I will try and figure out how to post a picture of it here for you.
As for my pages, Thanks for the tip on the Steiner website, but still not what I envision. Wish I could figure out how to attach a sample here for you to see. Many extra pages will be needed per country, but worth it I think. THanks |

Always remember It Is Up To You on how you want to design your own stamp album. You can use every one's ideas or you can stick with your own plan of ideas. The weight of the paper will also be up to you. But the most important thing is enjoying the way you layout your plan and how you execute it. So always have fun and try not to get frustrated on what you do. |
