Looking to expand my knowledge base, and looking for your suggestions on magazine subscriptions. More from a generalists perspective rather than deep immersion articles about the finer points of color varieties of the 1987 test strips used by the Vatican. I'll get to those down the road.
Was thinking maybe Linn's, but I get the impression from various posts on these boards the value may not be there anymore.
Anywho, looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

I actually find Kelleher's quarterly (?) magazines to be very well researched and illustrated with surprisingly little self-promotion. |

In terms of auction house publications, Spink's Insider magazine may be of interest - not all stamps, of course, which is probably an advantage. In the happy days of visiting France, I'd pick up France Timbres magazine, which is a good read. |

All good suggestions, but I would in particular second docgfd's nod to the American Stamp Dealer and Collector as one that is probably a little off the beaten path for most collectors but is right up the generalist's alley without being either too basic or too specialized. |

Lance, I don't know your level of collecting but you might want to consider a membership in the American Philatelic Society https://stamps.org/Their magazine, The American Philatelist, is geared toward a wide audience so you might not find every article or issue of interest but there are good, informative articles in it. Past issues are available online. You also have access to their library and can get discounts on stamps for sale at their store. https://classic.stamps.org/StampStoreDan |

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example. I collect for enjoyment, not investment. APS Member #223433 Postmark Collectors Club Member #6333 Meter Stamp Society Member #1409 |

You might consider just getting the monthly issues of Linn's rather than a full weekly subscription. I signed up for the monthly physical issue plus the weekly digital. The monthly issues have some good articles on topics of interest to worldwide collectors.

It depends on your interest. I do not usually find anything in Kelleher very interesting as I am not a real postal history buff. The APS journal is also hit or miss. Specialist society publications can be very narrowly focused.
I am more a generalist and find Gibbons Stamp Monthly better for what I like to read and as expected a stronger focus on British Commonwealth. If you subscribe, you have access to their back issues.
What I think is missing in the hobby is reading lists to help people find prior articles since most are all still relevant. In this modern age of searching unless you are knowledgeable about a subject it can be difficult to quickly narrow down the best articles.

Since I belong to the APS, I get their magazine, I get the Kelleher's magazine and my wife gets the magazine from the International Society of Japanese Philately. Nothing else I've looked at has really gotten me interested. I gave up my sub to Linn's decades ago when they just started to pile up unread because there wasn't a lot that we were interested in reading. |
