Recently bought a Scott 332 block Hinged and noted that the bottom right stamp had a significant ink anomaly.
Is this something valuable like a cracked plate copy?

To John Hildebrandt,
It's all in the eye of the beholder. There are collectors who wish only for the best in all respects. They would not bid on a flawed stamp. My own eye would look and try to understand what could have caused such a pretty flaw. And I would bid on it. Perfection for one eye and the leftovers for others. I suppose we are all collectors on a continuum.

My thoughts about this stamp: It looks like an engraved stamp with a bit of dirt (shall I guess paper fibers, dust, or bits of dried ink, or... ) that got there because of bad housekeeping inside the printing plant. It may have "infected" other stamps, like the next few sheets and then dislodged off the printing plate. No way to prove it, usually.
I see that this stamp has managed to grab your interest. Finding out what did it is probably now the point. Hope others chime in to give their opinion, or share their knowledge. Then you may be able to display it with a bit of a write-up that will make your collection interesting.

It would be classified as a freak. In my opinion this one less valuable than a plate crack, but worth a small premium to an EFO collector.

Yet far less common in terms of examples produced.

Nice find says this EFO guy.

Bead of sweat fell on the still wet ink. Probably a summer job!

I've got a similar issue with a US Columbian stamp. I believe it is a post-production drip of some sort of ascetic acid that has actually damaged the stamp. Here's my older post
