I am new to stamp collecting after acquiring a stamp collection that was my grandfather's. His career resulted in his correspondence with people around the world and he clipped many used stamps as well as collecting and trading mint ones.

I decided to use some covid downtime to catalog his collection and am now a year into the first step of the project with only one third of the stamps sorted (aprox. 25,000 stamps).

I've come across several stamps that someday I am sure I will be posting questions about but for now, I want to thank you for all the older posts, many of which have helped me on my journey.

Your treasure may well have more value to you given it came from a relative but do not let its relative low market value deter your fascination with this material. Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ
