I've searched trying to find a ID for this guy. None of the images I'm finding have FEE at the bottom. I'm assuming this had perfs trimmed but I don't know much about KG stamps. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, it's an overly trimmed registry envelope indicium:

Why whoever cut this out didn't save more of it is rather odd. Maybe it didn't fit in a blank album space. Truly mutilated stationery per rod222.

Lol indeed, Edward scissorhands! Thank you Hy-Brasil! As a newer collector it's been very interesting getting collections of old and see some of the debauchery done to old covers.. Should be a rule, if you can't draw a straight line.. don't try the scissors haha. Happy to have it though, better than not

I think this is correct.

When did the term "Cut Squares" fall out of use?

Bobby,
possibly a term one chooses to suit.
I use the term as deference to my mentor.
It suits me.

"Cut Square" is just that, possibly started with the production
of indicium, in a set size of "cut square" to suit the space
in the dedicated albums produced for these.
There was sufficient space between the printed image and the border.

Someone hacking out a fragment like this, is not a "cut square"
as I understand, or wish to adopt.

Nevertheless, I still collect them.

From my "Cut Square" Album.
