Just got a collection of Bremen stamps. This one definitely looks odd. Didn't see anything on forgeries about it or anywhere else for that matter. So I put it out to the G.O.AT.S

Here is the collection itself. I'll post my findings on forgeries after I get through them

Yes rog that's the site I'll be using for the identification. It's what I've used on my others but found nothing on the odd colored 2 zwei grote. I've reached out to klauserboard and just got the link to purchase his album. Perhaps I may find something there. I understand forgeries, they try to look close atleast. The additional blue ink has me confused. Thought maybe it could be a return to sender due stamp but no luck there either.

The blue one is a forgery without a doubt. The print quality is poorer and the paper is different, grayish. I don't know how you measure "they (forgers) try to look close" but that's not true. See:
https://goscf.com/t/56653

And you are going about it all wrong to find a stated forgery to prove that it is a forgery. The method is what mushroom hunters use, the live ones, at least. And that is to match the characteristics of the genuine exactly. If it doesn't, for mushrooms, it's something that you shouldn't eat; for stamps, it's a forgery.

I agree hybrasil especially german states that it's about finding true examples and not true forgeries. This stamp just seems extra goofy and that's why it's peaked my interest. And hence why I posted the Pic here so I could move on to identifying the true specimens in the lot and if anybody has ever run into that one perhaps they would share. It's like fishing with 2 rods. One you put a worm on and just cast it out. The other you cast and retrieve constantly searching. Maybe the worm gets bit.

Confirm the blue one is a forgery . The orange one is a lot more detail than the four forgeries that I have , those four are made by 4 different forgers.
