Hello members, I found this New Zealand stamp I see a military look hat very center on top of the Queen's crown also blue ink I think is a cancellation Bank of New Zealand. Please advice. Mara
The "hat" is part of the date in ink pen "11/3/91". That and the blue handstamp make this a revenue/fiscal usage. Either or both is a common style of revenue cancel on British Commonwealth stamps.
If there's an advertisement on the back, the date was probably supposed to be 1897 because ads were put on the backs of this issue in 1893.
