I recently have been buying First Day Covers (FDCs) direct from the US Postal Service. They are typically packaged with a piece of cardboard (to prevent folding, bending, etc.) and wrapped in cellophane.
Should I keep the FDC in the package? Or should I open the package and place the FDC in a protective cover? I am uncertain if the cardboard in the package might affect the quality of the FDC.
This has been asked here before, and the answer was that the USPS packaging is not sound for keeping stamps and stationery safe in the long run. It is a good idea to use a safe album to keep your collectibles in
