Stamps Found In Box And Albums

Hello,my name is Johnny.I have thousands of stamps from all over the world.Some are new and were never used.Others are postmarked and were removed from the envelope/parcel.From what I can tell,they are from the 20s to the mid 70s.As I've gone through them,Ive began to recognize how beautiful and intricate they are in detail.I can understand the interest in their collectability much more than I had previously.I have separated all of the stamps into groups of the country of origin.Some of the countries no longer exist.Some in Africa,the Caribbean,Arabic nations,etc.I have searched for values on a handful of the stamps and some range from 0.08 cents to $8.00.This isnt something that I have time for.Its all I can do to take care of my dog,myself,and my modest residence at this time.I also work 6 days a week.What I would like to do is post pictures of the stamps layed out on white sheets of paper,photograph them and upload the pics to the forum and offer them to you, the collectors,or get advice on whats most appropriate.Ive wondered if this is something I should take up an interest in,but I have to stay focused on other things right now and I just want the stamps to go to people that will appreciate them and care for them in a way that Im not able to.I have spoken with philatelists that are somewhat local to me and they have brushed me off or been to quick to dismiss my stamps as being utterly worthless before seeing them,which was discouraging.Please let me know if displaying them via this forum is a worthwhile approach.Thanks for any insights and the ease with which I've been allowed to join the forum.

If you can, scan 20-30 of the stamps you feel might be the better ones. I know this will be a guess on your part, but it would be a start.

People here can tell you more about what you have.

If you have a scanner, use scans. Scans are clearer than pictures.

Nice start to a hobby you can pick up in the future when life circumstances permit.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.
