Here is a new addition to my forgery collection ,these two are the most common forgeries made of this stamp . The easies way to know they are fakes is by the lack of fur lines on the body of the monkey . Both of these shown are just color blobs on the monkey .

There is a whole story of how this stamp was limited in sales to outside of China and with Chinese stamp dealers and in country investors who push the value of this stamp.

The first one on the left is not a forgery. It's jut a picture of the stamp. The line through the 8c value means this is not an actual stamp. Am I missing something? I've always assumed these "pictures" are just for fun and have no value. Are they collectibles too? Are people forging the pictures too?

It is not just a picture. It has been perforated and cut to size. Maybe, someone used a picture with such a line to produce the fake or thought he could get away with passing the cut-out picture off as the real thing.

We do not know what the back looks like. If it was just a picture, I would expect the back to have printing as well.

OP has not been active for more than a month - quite a long period in the case of OP -. Maybe, if he returns, he can show the back of that item.
