Pushing 330,000 All Different Worldwide Stamps In One Collection .

please do continue posting, I enjoy the sets and pages here and on other threads very much.

Something different from my Cinderella collection . Is it a real item or a creation of a Philatelic hustler looking to make a dollar from young collectors ,I am not sure . .

As a collector you always run across those items that are questionable ,my thing is to write it up and make a page in a album and let someone else dig for the real facts ,this goes both for a questionable stamp and also for the many shades or color difference I find ,so in my stuff there is stuff that needs more time to research .

Looks like my first stamp is a 1 ruble that catalogs at 50 Euro's it is 12A perf 11 1/2 {in your catalog scan } so it comes to 119 euro's for something costing me 20 cents as offered to me . Make no mistake I must of worked to 1 hour to earn that 20 cents back in the day .

I will redo that page . The 50 kon has a printing flaw in the left 50 and write up the 75 kon as a perf 11 1/2 so it is 12A in your catalog page .

Weird how the world works, I was looking at just this set today and wondering the same thing myself about the over prints.

Not everything has to cost a lot ,here is a example where the printing page plus the stamps mounted cost less than $3.00

THE STAMP WORLD HAS CHANGED ----- The collecting of stamps for WORLDWIDE COLLECTORS has made some positive changes . The above page is just a example .

In the past a collector would mount both a mint stamp and a used copy on top of each other in many previous albums that I seen up for auction . . But today without buying two different albums for hundreds of dollars to have a seperate mint and a used binder in my collection. I can print two seperate album pages ,one page for mint and one for the same set in used condition and the cost of each page printed is around 5 cents .

I just don't see any one writting about all these positive changes and how to use them in the philatelic community ,it is like we got a mental block over the past 50 years and it is like your told to collect stamps like it was 50 years ago . ....we have moved on .

Floortrader, you always have such nice stamps to share. Thank you for doing so. It helps to keep me motivated with the hobby.

I agree that there are many positives to collecting stamps today. I am still trying to find my way around the best way to purchase stamps with all of the online resources available it can be overwhelming to a new collector.

Great page Floortrader! Are you using Dennisson hinges on those pages? According to my calculations that would add about $0.50 to the cost of this page. Although the price of a pack of hinges seems rather outrageous, that actually helps put into perspective, since $0.50 is not much for a page's worth of really good hinges and still a fraction of the cost even for lower value stamps. 1000 hinges is a lot of hinges, and they go a long way. Do you know how frequently you go through a pack of hinges?

Dennisson hinges - this is a rare case where the old tech is better than the new tech

Stamp hinges is not a issue with me ,I have a life time supply ,mostly purchased many years ago when prices were around $6.00 a pack ,todays prices around $25.00 to $30.00 is crazy .


tsmatx----- I was lucky to get a lot of better hinges over the years ,enough to grow a inventory of them

I see Dutch Country Auctions sold a supply of 45 packs of hinges in a box for $720.00 .Can't believe the price they got ,as they said one of the last boxes of hinges ,but I heard the same thing from Rasdale Auctions last year . so every box now is the last one ...lol.

sooner or later, it will be the last one.

Wonderful photo floortrader! More than a few times I have said reviewing collections... There's not much value in those used US 3-6 cent commemoratives, but that pack of hinges is worth at least $10. ;)
