I have multiple stamps that still have the paper on the back of them from wherever they were taken from. Is there any method by which we can get the paper off the back of the stamp? Some stamps I have a very valuable and they still have the paper on the back of them I'm curious how to get rid of that paper and just keep the stamp without damaging the stamp. Thank you

My advice is to avoid removing paper. If the stamps are 'old' or 'valuable' leave the paper where it is. You can always trim it well clear of the perforations to tidy up the appearance.

Fugitive inks are a real problem. Some stamp inks are fugitive to solvents, some to water, some to both. Stamps printed in more than one colour can have one fugitive ink with others non-fugitive.

If you have lots of examples of a common stamp, try the method given in Don's post on a damaged example first to see what happens. Don't forget to dry it flat.

People often think they have very valuable stamps, but it turns out they don't. If you could post images of any you think are very valuable, then you can get a better opinion on whether to proceed with soaking them off.

A "very valuable" stamp (if that's what you actually have) does not become more valuable by removing it from the cover or paper to which it may be attached. Leave it be.
