Swedish tiger website says "Earliest known date of use, December 17th, 1922"

Your stamp is perf 10, thus most likely Scott 543.

I would note the 3 of the 4 threads you have started involve "treasure hunts". Just saying ....

Is never carved in stone, it is only true until an earlier dated one is found.

I will repeat, your stamp is perf 10, it cannot be a 544.

Yes, of course there is. But your stamp is the wrong perforation to be what you are hoping for!

I'm sure you jest, but the value is in the postcard not the stamp. An early RPPC from a small town in Maine, properly mailed from that town, is a popular collectible in its own right. Yes $15 is a bit rich on average, but not unreasonable to the right collector (once you can find them). It may take a couple of years listed at that price to sell it on ebay. $5 much quicker. Not bad for a stamp that catalogs fourty cents.

The Sanford Town Hall is now the Sanford City Hall, other than that, it is largely unchanged. Sanford became a city two or three years ago. The York County Stamp Club holds its meetings on Elm St. about two blocks away.
