I had begun working on a project this winter, trying to locate and create a display of Anti-war material from countries around the world. Actually surprisingly difficult to come up with material that meets my criteria other than modern United Nations issues.
However, that was not my question. This set was going to be a cornerstone with a page of its own, being one of the earlier issues, and I had it out recently to talk over the idea with a friend. I do know that there are fakes of early Soviet material but it was suggested that I ask about these stamps as they were found in a collection some years back and not purchased as genuine. If fake or even if suspected as such, I would have to make a note on the display to that effect.
Can anyone in the group offer an opinion here or point me toward a source where I can make my own comparison?
This set has not been reported forged. There is always the possiblity that very modern forgers made examples, but those would be on bright white paper with no watermark, possibly left imperf.
This is one of my favorite sets of stamps from any Country. Your stamps appear to be genuine. To be absolutely certain check for the watermarks which should be easily seen without fluid if you use a strong light.
