@Post pe

It is a Parcel cancellation, not a precancell and it is callede a Cork cancellation you will often find these Cork cancellation on the Mark value as they where often used at parcels.

@Vayolene

When you was sending a package you attached a packet card to the packet with an adress and stamps coressponding to the weight of the parcel. The stamps affixed to this card could be cancelled wit a cork cancel even rubber cancellation or metal is known before affixing the stamp to the card. The packet card also received a cirkular datecancel next to the cork cancellation with date, the Mark stamps was also used to other services, I do not think they precancelled the stamps before they had to use the Mark stamps on packetcards. .

I will not call the cork cancelation a precancel, like the ones you know from the States, France and Belgium, you just had to cancel the postmark before afixing it to the card.

Nice cancellatione with the cork stamp and the sidestamp from the main postoffice in Danzig 1, also where most Cork cancelled is known the 6 star cork cancel.

If you collect Danzig it is important to be aware of false post cancel.

Here's a nicely-socked example that I posted here thirteen years ago. (!) (Where has the time gone?)

5 Mark surcharge, "points down" burelage.

(Still a little skeptical about that one.)

Very nice stamp what is the colur of the burlage? Is it purple grey or dark(green)Grey there is 2 types 30II is pricede at 35 Euro and 45 II is 11 Euro, no matter what your stamp is very nice and a nice Cork cancell

I realizede I have been a member of ebay for almost 23 years :-) signed up at the German site when they still used D-mark, you could buy stamp at spotprice then :-)

I would like to thank all participants in the discussion. It has been very helpful for me. If I understood
correctly these is qualified as a cancel not a overprint .
When I bought the stamp ,the seller even didn't know if it's described in any catalog at all. He had wrote me tath it's just some type of German overprint ,unknown to him.

Viking123, I'll need the stamp in hand again to make a call on the color. I'll make a mental note to keep an eye open for it. I have a pretty good idea where it is.

I'm still in the accumulation phase for Danzig (mostly postmarks, at this point), so I don't think I've even removed that from the page it was attached to at purchase.
