Good Evening, I have listed in my notes that these stamps are from Syria 1934 - stamp numbers 236 and 250. However these stamps have no values. Are these proof stamps? If so, what are their catalog numbers and values if you have that information please. Thanks!

Your catalog numbers are correct for the issued stamps. You are not going to find a catalog number for the proofs without values printed. What exactly are you looking for? |

If you have any idea what they could be worth that would be helpful. I don't know if they are worthless or priceless honestly. |

You're asking for a lot here. Pricing should be based on your research, not how we'd price these things. This is like asking "I have a minute, tell me everything you know about this. And make it snappy." That said, I'll throw you a suggestion here, and you can run with it. Proofs of countries under French administration are not normally worth very much. The exception are some of the deluxe proofs die sunk on card. These in the OP may not be in the issued colors, either. If ebay, I'd just put them out there and hope for the best, maybe starting each at 2.99 to 4.99, lowering starts if no bids. Demand for oddball things is up these days, but a lot of demand for proofs are from topicalists and I personally don't know any that collect parliament buildings or Saladin to be blunt. |

I don't know which specialist catalogue would list these, if any. If these were mine, and I didn't want to rely on ebay to determine the true value of them without doing some more due diligence first, I'd search delcampe and a few auction sites to see if I can find something similar. I'd search for proof, or essay, or unissued, at least, in English and French. Maybe "trial" too. That said, if these were mine, and I was ready to part with them, I would make a few cursory searches and then I'd put them on ebay at a low start and hope that at least two people found them interesting. I'd make a calculated guess that investing an hour of time in further research wouldn't pay dividends. My 2d. |

Not only are the topics not the most interesting, but also aren't these from longer sets? It seems to me that collectors usually prefer high face value single proofs, or an auction with a full set. Buying mickey mouse here and there isn't very fun or attractive |

Quote: It seems to me that collectors usually prefer high face value single proofs, or an auction with a full set. I mentioned delcampe because there are a number of "sold" auctions for Syria material that look more or less like they are in the same category as the items above. Prices were generally $1 to $10, a few a little higher. Again, there could be a reason why the above items are special. I wouldn't know what it is, and I'd be mildly surprised. (I mention this again because a couple times OP has referred to coming here for our "professional opinions" and that's not what is being offered. A "professional" opinion typically costs some money in the form of a cert. That said, there are many well-informed opinions shared in these threads over the last day.) |

Perhaps that seller lives by the mantra ask and ye shall receive. The rest of us must live restrained by the entirety of the human experience |

If it's "Linns" it's going to be pricey. One can only dream of having stamps worth so much. |
