Hello - I have a bunch of green #279 Franklin 1 Cent stamps I was sifting through. I ran into one though where the face was clearly different. There are so many variations I figured I just needed to dig further into the cataog to find that particular variation.

In searching for any other green Franklin 1 cent stamps where "ONE CENT" is a wavey scroll at the bottom (just to narrow it down), the only other one I found was #264 - and in comaring those faces, sure enough that appears to match the different face one I have, except from what I can tell #264s are only in blue.

Are there green #264 Franklin 1c stamps? That may just be an entirely different Scott # that eluded me - which is the likely answer here. I've attached pictures of the two to show what I'm seeing.

Just in case the answer is painfully obvious - beginner here, so still learning along the way. Thanks for any time you take in answering :)

Same stamp. The cancellation and some scraping are giving you the illusion that it is different.

I have a certified 279 that appears to have what you refer to as a "264 face". Keep it simple ... if you have a stamp of this design that is green, it is a 279.

Greeting all. New to the forum and to collecting. Found the attached Franklin stamp on a postcard and wonder if it is worth anything. Thank you for the kindness of your consideration.
