I want to send this type of envelope with a 9 x 12 manila envelope and a dvd cover inside it to an actor in Austraila.

Roughly how much would this cost.

I tried looking it up but I was so confused trying to figure it out.

Dimensions are good, but you also need thickness and weight also. This tye of envelope- what type is it , regular brown or white paper or bubble mailer? What country are you sending it from? Usually all required information to use with web calculators.

Edit: added line about type of envelope.

USA First Class International for country rate 6 (includes Australia) $2.90 to $15.27 by ounce if under a pound for flats (which is what you are mailing). When over a pound, $30.85 2 lbs, $46.75 3 lb and 4 lbs for $62.90.

Check at your local Post Office to confirm or correct.

If it contains anything considered 'merchandise' (as opposed to simply correspondence), I think you will have to 'declare' it with the proper forms. I agree, go to PO and get their help. Be prepared for it to be costly.
