Looks like a precancel?

The American Consulate at Godthaab, 1940-42, may be responsible for what does look like a precancel.

We, the USA, opened the Consulate building back then after the building was mail ordered from Sears Roebuck & Co. Godthaab is now know as Nuuk.

From the 1940 invasion of Denmark into 1945, Greenland was a U.S. Protectorate.

Edit: Take good care of the stamp as my red flag good item warning is going off. (Or someone had some fun making a fantasy.)

What strikes me as odd is that the overprinting or handstamp is green like the stamp. It doesn't make a lot of sense and leads me to believe that it is a non-official creation. I have spent a considerable amount of time looking for information regarding this stamp and have come up empty.

Given how much time has elapsed, and how common the basic stamp is, I think it likely that if anything official was done like this it would be known long before now. I find it much more likely that someone created this for their own reasons at some point.

Do the bars/spacing measure the same as other known precancels? (they look a bit janky to my precancel inexperienced eye.)
