I've collected stamps on and off from a variety of countries throughout my life but the past few weeks I've been working on making an Argentina collection. I've got over 800 now and am really enjoying getting them sorted into an album. Here's a pic of one of my pages!

Every day I check the mail for my next batch of stamps. I think I have 2 still coming from ebay and 3 or 4 from stampworld sellers, but some are from overseas so I know those will take longer. I'm only 28 stamps short of having a complete 1950s collection and 18 short of completing the 1940s!

EvaSeyler,

Great that you are making your own pages.

Enjoy having fun with stamps! That is the name of this game. Wonderful you are carrying on your father's collection. You are the next steward of a family treasure you can pass on to future generations. Its value as a family heirloom wil always surpass it monetary value.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

Thanks everyone!

Russ, I agree it's fascinating to have an entire envelope! These came to me already removed, but sometimes I wish I could see the entire postmark/date—the bits I can see are very tantalising!

Nice handmade page.
Have you looked into using AlbumEasy (free software) to print country-specific pages?
They have preconstructed pages for most countries, including Argentina to 1965.
You can also customize the pages, to add your own labels for sets or stamps before printing them.

@yosclimber I haven't! Just found it and my desktop is too old to run the latest version, but I'm going to download it to my laptop and play around with it. Looks fun!
