I went to the post office today. They did a second printing of the 2005 Deer (1688) and Walrus (1689). They look the same. Although It is mentioned in Details that they used a new press. It comes in sheet. I bought a pair. The clerk told me that the product code is different than the 2005 one.

Thanks for that information Sylvain. Which issue of Details is it mentioned in, I must have missed it. |

It is the new edition of Details. July to September 2010. I received it by mail Monday. There is a note from the editor on the first page about this. Not obvious to find it. It is on the same page that you see the Olympians with the Editor. |

I stopped by my usual outlet today, but they had no reprints and I had to tell them they were available. Sigh.

I received my Canada Post Details in the mail today. On page 5 under notices it says: The first reprint of the $1 High Value Definitives - White-Tailed Deer and Atlantic Walrus (issued October 20, 2005 Product #410104107) is now available. The stamps have been printed on a new Super Intaglio press. The souvenir sheet product will not be reprinted. As Sylvain said, these stamps are assigned Scott/Unitrade numbers 1688 and 1689, with 1689a being the se-tenant pair. They were issued in panes of 16. A souvenir sheet of the two values (1689b) was also issued. The tagging is slightly different on the souvenir sheet being invisible under normal light, but shiny and visible on the stamps from the pane of 16. Oddly Unitrade does not give them sub numbers such as 1688i and 1689i. I have yet to see the reprints, so it remains to see if there will be any differences - so far Sylvain has not found any as said above. |

This is an interesting issue with several security features. Here is an image of the original printing. Here is the micro-printing below Canada which reads benus rosmarus, the scientific name. Hidden date on the Walrus: Hidden date on the Deer: |

I also ordered 2 pages from CP. I also can't see any differences. As for the bar code it seems to be the same as the old one. So I think I might have add the old one instead of the new one. But I'm not sure that the bar code is really gonna be different. I also ordered 3 panes of the corrected 3 cents insect that add the error last year. The bar code is the same as the old pane. |

I'm at work right now but I'll post the bar code of what I've received last week, if someone as the original pane we can verify if it's different. |

Ok, so here's the bar code number for the "supposedly" new page of the Deer and walrus 1$ stamps that I got last week in the mail.
0 63491 02483 2
So if someone as a different bar code we'll know that there'S actually 2 bar codes. |
