For over 50 years I collect - with some interruptions - stamps. My collecting areas are:
German Reich (specialized), Allied Occupation of Germany 1945-1949, GDR, Berlin, FRG, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and USSR (at least somewhat specialized).
About 30 years ago I started designing my own album sheets, first with Winword, then with Publisher and now with Clive's AlbumEasy. I retired a year ago and now have quite a bit of time for this.... Numerous threads on this forum have been and continue to be very helpful to me in creating albums and gathering the detailed information necessary to do so. Perhaps some of you have looked at album sheets of mine on Clive's website TheStampWeb, where they are available for download for private use and customization.
I look forward to the exchange with you!
Alexander Barthel

I have enjoyed using your AlbumEasy pages for USSR.

Many thanks for this kind review, yosclimber!!!

The USSR album I revise since a few weeks quite intensively (not least some errors had to be corrected) and also prepare an English version. To some "difficult" issues I now also add supplementary information. I already show an example page here:

Rednaxela.

Enjoy having fun with stamps! That is the name of this game. Wonderful you are carrying on your father's collection. You are the next steward of a family treasure you can pass on to future generations. Its value as a family heirloom wil always surpass it monetary value.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

I supplied a few tiny corrections via Clive, that I noticed when using the pages.
I recall just a couple of rotated dimensions.

That new page looks great.

Welcome Alexander,

I retired in 2019 and like you I have been able to spend more time on the hobby. I'm also very fond of AlbumEasy and have used it for a lot of different things.

When it came to my German collection however I decided to invest in a nice set from Schaubek. I have an old Schaubek album from 1887 that belonged to my grandfather.

I do like the USSR page you posted and may check those out.

I studied in Germany in 1989-90 in Karlsruhe and was in Berlin on Nov. 9, 1989. Lot's of great memories.

Viel Glück und alles Gute,

Paul
