Does any one reading this message read Danish.? If so can you help. I am assuming that as it is addressed to Denmark it is written in that language

This card was sent from Ponoka, Alberta to Canada on the 9th of July 1945. On that day there was a total eclipse of the sun with the path of totality passing just south of Ponoka. From there about 90% of the sun's disk would have been covered.

I am wondering if the writer of this card sent it because of the eclipse and mentions it in the message. https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse.../1945-july-9

Any help with a translation would be most appreciated

AQ

First the actual text then a translation to English. Some of the Danish words on the postcard are not used anymore, they have been replaced by modern equivalents.

Baltija

Thank you for the very quick reply. Even though it was a bit dissapointing - I was hoping for at least a mention of the eclipse. According to that web page the eclipse did happen at about 7 a.m. so perhaps the writer did not see it?

Once again thank you very much

@Anthraquinone, please note that the postcard was "examined" - another word for censored.
