I have a huge box of stamps some 1 cent on up. This person collected stamps for a long time from all over the world. I have only thus far listed two lots for sale on ebay.

I am overwhelmed with the amount of stamps to sell to help pay for a lady who is in a nursing home. I only ask for 10 % to cover my costs and handling. Another 10% goes to the executor of the estate. There are so many stamps some rare and some collectable. Also letters from missionaries. Seems her husband wrote to some.

What is the point of your post?

It is nice you are trying to help someone. However, I do not think you are being realistic. Both losts might sell. But I think they, only, will do so after lower your price by 99.9%.

If you have a big pile of the same stamp, you can bet they sell 100 for the dime.

The description for the lot of French stamps is very hard to take serious.

I agree with NSK, the lot of French stamps, all the same, are very common, and you may get in the ballpark of $1 for them (or maybe not). The missionary cover is interesting, but I would not expect it to sell anywhere close to the listed price, maybe somewhere between $2-10.

You should consult a stamp catalog (Scott, Stanley Gibbons, etc.) to get an idea of the "retail" value (which is what you would expect to pay a dealer), for which the price you should expect to get on ebay would be much less. Good luck, you may get a buyer, but I would not expect any bites at the listed prices.

You will learn real quick that Stamp Collecting should be for fun and a hobby. Very few actually make money at it. IF you are trying to raise money for a cause you might be better off to work 40 hours, and at the rate of $20 an hour, you will raise $800. Its a lot easier to raise it that way.
I tried selling my duplicate stamps stamps and I probably invested 30 hours and have made about $200 bucks, which is about $7 an hour. I do it for fun, and I am glad other collectors can use my duplicates.

Plus, if not priced acceptably for buyers, your sales may be zero (0) and thus not even pay you one cent per hour for the 30 or however many hours you spend.
