Can someone explain how to tell the difference between Cilicia Scott numbers 109 and 127?

Scott Catalogue says after 127 listings that the later issues are identified as follows: This surcharge has "0.M.F." in thicker letters than the preceding issues. Most of lhe French stamps overprinted for this issue were from the wartime printings, on poor quality grayish paper (GC, or Grande Consommation paper).

Hopefully this makes sense as I have never seen either stamp.

That is something that Sergio Sismondo can do .

Since he is not with us any more , then I can do it for you if you donate to this chat board . You can become a supporter ,read the side bar .

To save time, here is what you need to know for the difference between the thick and thin overprint .

Chesham 85 --- Now you can say you seen and know the difference . Also think of being a supporter to see more stuff you never seen too !

floortrader,

I have been supporter for at least the past year. I guess that my supporter tag expired. Will renew as this a valuable board which should be supported.

Thanks for the picture of the stamps. Subtle differences with the surcharge as stated by Scott but they are distinguishable if you have both stamps.

Thank you for the replies. I think I was getting confused by the note in the Scott catalog. I have them sorted out now.
