Hello, I'm a recycled 1970s teenage stamp collector, enjoying my return to the hobby about 10 years ago. Grand visions of collecting all the Colonial African issues and creating my own albums for them. Using AlbumEasy and inspirations from here and elsewhere on the web.

I also have a 1952 Minkus Global Stamp Album from my dad, where I am slowly working on getting at least 1 stamp per country (60 zeros at last count) and then 1 per page (about 400 blanks out of 980). Aim low and succeed for now!. 4516 stamps in the album and slowly climbing.

I also have a stockbook and spread sheet where I am trying to build a Stamp For Every Country collection.

The rest of my WW winds up either in a 1972 Senior Statesman from my youth, or a 1965 Minkus Canada album.

I have Vol I and II of the Mystic Hingless USA where I dabble with my USA collections, up to 1966, and then again back into my teenage Harris United States Album.

So I'm still mostly a novice, but I am having fun. I of course restarted my collecting with a few years of ebay insanity, but hey I'm a recycled teenager with a real job now!

Tom

Eastriver,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

Welcome!! I'm a noob as well, teen collector from the 70's also! I've also delved into the ebay craziness, realizing it can be a serious addiction.

Sounds like you have a solid collection working. Wish you the best in continuing your collecting journey.

Welcome to the forum. I believe there's a dealer/collector that sends out approvals in the Buffalo area. I need to dig around and find his/her address. They had a lot of older foreign singles that would help my WW collection grow.

Remember to use the search function and try really hard to have good titles for any new threads.
